LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico is a project born from the need to find sustainable urban solutions in the face of climate change. To achieve this, it combines strategies for repopulating and recovering native forests with efficient residential initiatives and actions to combat the environmental and energy footprint.

The project, which is already in development, presented until now a graphic identity represented with a chestnut and betting on brown tones. This image has served as an initial proposal for the presentation of the project before the institutions and technical entities that collaborate in it. In this second phase, in view of the presentation of LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico to the public, it is committed to a change of identity and a new website that makes the project more attractive, replicable and usable.

New image

The new corporate identity of LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico is composed of a symbol that represents a ring in which wood veins are integrated. Thus, the main concepts of the project are coherent: wood as raw material and the layers of protection it intends to develop.

Its circular shape provides dynamism and refers to an essential idea of the culture of environmental awareness: the circularity understood as a guarantee of sustainability. The part of the logo is made up of a dry wood typeface and modern style, with a considerable weight that guarantees its correct reading on small scales.

The chosen color is of an intermediate shade between brown and maroon, to maintain a relationship with the ocher tone of the wood and, at the same time, to link the project with the corporate red of the City Council of Lugo.

Launch of the new website

The new LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico website, which can be visited atwww.lugobiodinamico.eu, will bring the project and its actions closer to the residents of Lugo. In it, citizens will find updated information on the different actions that are being developed and those that have already been carried out since the beginning of the project, as well as maps on which to locate each initiative and detailed information.

The main intention of this page is to serve as a point of reference for project information and, also, as a space where we can find examples of actions and sustainable initiatives that can be developed from our homes.

The page also allows subscribing to a news bulletin, having access to downloadable multimedia content and accessing detailed information on all LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico actions. Data on the development phases, budgets, partners and even information on other LIFE projects with which LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico participates forming synergies will also be accessible. Complying with the firm commitment to transparency of the Council of Lugo and the LIFE program of the EU, in this space the results of each of the actions will be published, which will be of public access.

LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico

LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico is coordinated by the Council of Lugo and has the funding of the Provincial Council of Lugo and the European Union through the LIFE program. In addition, the University of Santiago de Compostela and the Polytechnic University of Madrid are added as collaborating partners for technical developments.
The final objective of LIFE Lugo + Biodinámico, which will be developed until 2020, is to design a series of environmental and urban development initiatives that are exportable and replicable by other cities and local entities of medium size in Galicia and throughout Europe.
